Description

Adds stunning Sun Shaft effects!

Note: At the moment it's for Windows only, I'll learn how to support Linux and Mac later

You can toggle the effect in the F8 menu. Please note that you will probably lose a couple of fps using this mod.

This is a fixed version of original Sun Shafts. If you need Ambient Occlusion, you can find it in TPB's workshop. He helped me fixing the shader :)

I highly recommend to use this mod together with Daylight Classic (with all options enabled) for the most nostalgia effect :)

Big thanks to Ulysius who made original mod, and to Gradius Twin, whose shader loading code from fixed Dynamic Resolution I reused here.

Just turned this off, gained like 20-30 FPS in some areas, and generally seems a lot more stable.

This mod seems to be a SERIOUS FPS hog, it should be the first thing you turn off if your FPS is dropping... which it will, if you install this.

Is there any alternative to this mod it makes my fps go very low from 60 fps to 30 or 40 ish and also it's not updated to the latest version

Sun Shaft is back on the list. Please follow the Road & Vehicles compatible modlist.

Drop in FPS? Yes, but so does placing assets on a empty map. You might see a big drop in FPS,when active, in places on the map where FPS is still high up. But when already running on 20 FPS, for example, it only will drop to 18,17-ish FPS depending on camera orientation in relation to the sun. Like SHSFoolish below mentioned, you can use F8 "ingame" to toggle on/off when building or to take a screenshot or just to enjoy the view, if needed. I haven't noticed a drop in FPS when toggle off.
